Since the Sidekick 3 and newer models, the battery can be easily removed and replaced.

This is great news because the Sidekick 3 has a charging port issue that crops up after awhile. It will just not charge the battery. The orange light comes on but it is not charging. YOu can get it fixed or buy an extra battery and a external charger cradle. It will set you back about 35 dollars but it that is a lot better than the 75+ it will cost to fix it!

This also works for the Sidekick ID charging issues as well as the Sidekick 3 and ID share the same battery.

When looking at a cradle, make sure it says it has a spare battery charger. Some of the Sidekick Charging cradles don't. If eBay is out of the right cradle, look for this one on Amazon. The cradle is also a good fit for the Sidekick ID batteries as well!
